Destroy and rebuild is a collection of paintings that I started Sept 2016 and completed January 2017. They tell a dark but beautiful story without the use of any figurative characters. It was a turning point in my life, going through a lot of personal and business issues at the time. I found myself in this series of work stylistically. It is all done by hand, chop stick and rarely a palet knife. No brushes were used as I like to get a direct feel for the paint and the canvas. They are action paintings which express a series of different feelings and emotions. The "swiggly" lines I use are sort of a combination of Japanese and Arabic writing with a wild style NYC graffiti influence to them.
